If it is not for you, tell us within 7 days

Try the service. If it is not what you expected, write to us within 7 days of paying and we will refund it in full, without asking you to justify it — provided you paid by PayPal (crypto is final, for reasons set out below) and have not already used the service heavily. In practice that means:

• no more than 5 downloads since the payment, and
• no more than 2 GB of video served to you in that time.

Those figures are generous on purpose — enough to give the service a real try on the sites you care about, and far below what a month is worth. We record downloads and transfer for every account anyway, to enforce the fair-use limits, so this is checked from the same numbers rather than argued over.

Why the condition exists. Without it, a membership becomes a way to take one file and ask for the money back, and the cost of that falls on everyone who pays normally. It is not there to make refunds difficult: if you are inside the window and have not run through the service, you get your money back and you do not have to explain yourself.

The fastest way is the Get help page while signed in, because it attaches the payment for us; support@pastedownload.com works too. Refunds go back to where the money came from, and once we record one, the days that payment bought are removed from the account.

Outside that

We do not refund a term you have already used. There are two exceptions, and we do not need to be argued into either — the counters above have nothing to do with them:

• You were charged twice, or charged after cancelling. Refunded in full, whenever we find out.
• The service was broken for you and we could not fix it. We refund the unused part of your term.

A single site going away is not by itself a fault — the sites we fetch from change without warning, and that is stated in the terms. But if the service stops being useful to you and we cannot put it right, say so; we would rather refund than keep money from somebody who is not getting anything.

Cancelling a PayPal subscription

PayPal is the only method that renews by itself, and cancelling it is done in PayPal, not here — we cannot cancel it on your behalf. Sign in to PayPal, open Settings → Payments → Manage automatic payments, find PasteDownload and cancel it.

Cancelling does not take away what you have already paid for. Your membership runs to the end of the term you bought, and simply does not renew. If you want the current term refunded as well, and you are inside the 7 days, ask.

Crypto payments are one-time. There is nothing to cancel: they never renew on their own.

Crypto payments are final

The 7-day refund above does not apply to payments made in cryptocurrency. This is stated next to the crypto button before you pay, and by paying that way you accept it. If you would rather keep the option of changing your mind, pay with PayPal instead — the 7-day refund applies there in full.

The reason is not suspicion, it is that the transaction runs one way. A blockchain payment cannot be reversed; refunding one means sending a new transaction, paying the network fee to do it, to an address you would have to give us — and a single wrong character in that address destroys the money with no way to recover it. The exchange rate moves in between as well, so neither of us ends up with the amount we started from.

There is no exception to this. Money paid in crypto does not travel back — not after a day, not for a change of mind, and not because something went wrong at our end.

What we do instead is deliver. If a payment reached us but your account was not credited, tell us on the Get help page with the payment attached and we will apply it by hand: you get the days you bought. If a payment arrives short and sits unconfirmed, the same thing — nothing is lost and nothing is being kept from you. And if you paid twice by accident, the days stack, so the second payment buys you a second term rather than disappearing.

So the promise on crypto is narrow and absolute: you will get what you paid for, and you will not get the money back. If that is not a trade you want to make, pay with PayPal, where the 7-day refund applies in full.

Top-ups

Top-up credits and bandwidth never expire, and the same 7-day window applies to them when they were bought with PayPal. Once they have been spent we cannot refund what has been used — an unspent top-up is refundable in full, a spent one is not. A top-up bought with crypto is final, the same as any other crypto payment.

Before you ask for a refund

If something is not working, it is often a site we can fix — and members' reports are handled first. Telling us tends to be faster than a refund and you keep your membership. Either way, the choice is yours and we will not make it difficult.
